Prayer points for December 09 - January 10
BBC step focus – “On the step - getting to know Christians”
Give thanks for the following (at least!):
- Impact of the Believe It series
- Answers to prayer e.g. baptisms at Rushmere, Rachel Forster’s 60th b’day celebrations
- Significant progress in renovating the Church Halls
Christmas Events
We pray for:
• All the invitations that we will give out for our main Christmas events
• All those planning and preparing for these events, including Open Door
• A real welcome to be received and felt by everyone who comes in contact with us through this period
• God to speak clearly and unmistakably into people’s lives
Development plan
We pray for:
• PRAYER to be transformed from a mechanical exercise into a powerful movement through 2010
- New Sermon series on prayer in the New Year
• Us to be good neighbours as we make COMMUNITY PARTNERING a priority through 2010
- development of existing friendships and make new ones too
- the visits of prospective MP’s to our Sunday Celebration
Creche (see Charraine Chandler for more details)
- Praise God for the current set of babies, toddlers and helpers
- Pray for all of the new babies and toddlers starting creche in the coming months.
- Pray that God will continue bless us with new babies and toddlers and also with new helpers
Lunch Club (see Tony and Elizabeth Simpson for more details)
- praise God for the willing addition of George Wilding (Melody Fuller's father) to our team of cooks
- continue to thank God for all the volunteers who help prepare the meals & those who provide vital transport (overseen by Margaret & Alan Cribb).
- give thanks for the smooth transition from the old Halls to the new Church Centre & the happy atmosphere each week.
- continue to pray for those with continuing health problems e.g. Alan Gregory, Rachel Forster, Betty Brown, Betsy Clarke & Marjorie Garnham.
- lift to God the families of Jack Dryhurst & Anne Perry after their recent passing.
Share Scheme (more details from Margaret Smith)
* Thank God for the opportunity of being able to reach out to the community and live out the Gospel in a practical way through our food parcels.
* Pray that food will always be available when needed, that it would bless the receivers and that it would be seen to be God's love in action.

- those working in the retail business who can get so stressed at Christmas and in the January sales
Wider World:
- the ongoing visible conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the less visible ones such as in the Congo
