Prayer points for February - May 10

BBC step focus – “The Discovery Step – getting to know the Gospel”

Give thanks for the following (at least!):

-          Impact of the Christmas Services and Open Door
-          The amazing privilege of prayer – at God’s invitation
-          The ‘Crown Him’ joint church celebration in mid-January
-          Passion for Life and its impact on Ipswich
-          Claire’s return to us!

Let us bring some of the following concerns to our Father as part of your growing relationship with Him and as He puts them ‘on our hearts’:

Toy Library (more information from Kathyn Shomaly)

Thank God for providing:
-          a great team – of one mind and vision
-          wonderful facilities
-          group of mums and carers from the local community
Pray for:
-          God’s guidance on all the activities and His touch on many lives
-          Relationships to grow and flourish
-          Toy Library to be an oasis of God’s unconditional love

Eternity/E1 and E2 (more information from Sarah Walker)

- Praise for the youth team which has carried on with this work in Claire’s absence.
- more young people to become Christians and mature in their relationship with God.

Children's Ministry (more information from Heather Barrington)

• the leaders of each group: Creche, Beginners, Energizers, & Trailblazers on Sundays, and 8:11 on Thursdays - for God's guidance in their preparation and His anointing as they lead their sessions.
•  the children: that they will feel happy in their groups, and will grow in their understanding of God and how much He loves them.
•  the parents: that God will guide them daily as they help their children to grow in their faith.

Ministry items:

-          more Baptisms in 2010
-          the effective closure of Girls’ and Boys’ Brigades
-          Claire’s return as she gets to grips with what has been happening in the past few months.

Home Mission

-          wisdom in the allocation of project and ministry grants – may His priority projects be selected
-          greater engagement with what is happening around the UK through Home Mission – e.g. through the BUGB newsletter

Ipswich Items:

-          those working in the insurance business at this time of potentially significant numbers of claims
-          more meaningful engagement between the council and the people of Ipswich e.g. the potential sale of Ipswich Buses

Wider World:

-          the ongoing visible conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq as well as the less visible ones such as in the Congo
-          aftermath of the Haiti earthquake – devastating an already poor country- while not forgetting other disasters from which so many people are being helped to recover.
